Guidelines for Delivering Artwork

Congratulations to all artists selected to participate in FotoFest 2022 at the Art League of Baytown.  Guidelines for delivering your work to our gallery are as follows:

All selected work is due at the Art League of Baytown no later than September 17, 2022.

The shipping address is:
Art League of Baytown
c/o Steve Knight
408 Red Bud Ln.
Baytown, Texas  77520

If you have shipped your artwork to us, we will return your art to your preferred shipper (using your enclosed pre-paid return shipping label) no later than November 18.

If you are local and decide to hand deliver your photograph, you can bring it to the Art League of Baytown, 110 W. Texas Ave, Baytown, Tx 77520 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 11 am and 5 pm.  We invite you to grab a cup of coffee and visit with us a bit.  You can pick up your image once the exhibition is over on November 5 either  November 10, 11, 12 or November 17, 18, 19 between 11 am and 5 pm.  If you need to make arrangements to pick the work up other than these dates or hours of business, contact Steve at vicepresident2@artleagueofbaytown.org and we will try to work something out.

The maximum physical dimension for framed images is 36” on the longest side.  This is the measurement for the longest side of the frame and not the size of the photograph within.

Gallery wraps are not acceptable. All photographs, including those on canvas, metal, wood, or other non-paper substrates, must be framed and ready to hang with wire hangers.  Sawtooth hangers will not be accepted.

Photographers are encouraged to use white or off-white mats and black frames.  You are required to use plexiglass if shipping your work to ALB.  Glass is more easily broken during shipping and nothing ruins our day more than opening a box full of broken glass.  We will seal it and ship it right back.  However, glass is acceptable if the photographer decides to hand deliver their work to our gallery and then pick it up after the exhibition.

Please do not ship work with packaging ‘peanuts’.  Artists shipping their work must use reusable good quality packing materials.   Shipping and delivery details will be provided with notification of acceptance. ALB cannot be responsible for damage or loss during transit. ALB will not be responsible for normal wear and tear during the exhibition, such as minor nicks to frames or scratches to Plexiglas.  Remember, we’re artists too so we will always treat your work how we would want someone to treat ours.  Did I mention no packing peanuts?

Delivery and return of images to and from the Art League of Baytown is the photographer’s responsibility, including insurance.  If photographs are shipped a prepaid return shipping label must be provided by the photographer when the work is shipped to our gallery.  We will not ship photos back to the artist without a prepaid return shipping label.  Any images that are shipped to the gallery without a prepaid return shipping label will not be accepted into the show until the label is in the possession of ALB.  Photographs remaining at ALB 30 days after the exhibit closes become the property of ALB.

ALB expects all delivered work to be printed and framed at a professional level. The Art League of Baytown reserves the right to decide what presentation is appropriate for this exhibit.

All images must be for sale.  The Art League of Baytown recieves 30% commission on all sales.  Please keep that in mind when pricing your artwork.  If your work sells we will gladly send you a check minus the commission fee.

USE RIGHTS: Each artist retains all copyrights to their own images. Artist’s recognition is provided with any use. By submission for jurying, artists whose submissions are chosen for the exhibition grant the Art League of Baytown the right to use their images for the purpose of promoting the artist, promoting ALB’s programs, promoting exhibitions and subsequent display on ALB’s website of current and past exhibitions, and represents that the artist created the image and has the right to make this grant of use. Promotions and images may also be placed on social networks for the Art League of Baytown with artist credit. Artists grant the use of their image(s) as stated without further contact or compensation from ALB.  We do run ads in print media at times promoting our events.  Should your image(s) be selected for a printed promotion, you may be asked to provide ALB with digital image of higher resolution that the one submitted for the jury process.
